Legions Weekend - Trying to Attract Players from T:A

So tomorrow (Friday) I will be releasing a Legions tutorial aimed at T:A players. I've also been trying to set up a greater presence for Legions in the Tribes Reddit community.

Hopefully this will lead to some new players trying out the game this weekend. So drop whatever games you've been playing and make sure you hit up those Legions servers this weekend to keep them alive and active as much as possible. Especially at those times like Saturday/Sunday morning to the evening. Let's also watch out for what we do with PUGs. We don't want to empty the servers out when there are new players there.

If you see people who don't look like they can play for *chocolate cookies*, help them out a bit. Escort their asses when they grab the flag and give them tips when needed. Don't overdue it though, hopefully some of these guys will stay for the challenge.

Hope to see you and new players playing.

Finishing it up right now. It'll be uploaded sometime tonight/tomorrow.

My only concern is though, vets in this game are sometimes targeting the noobs first, right away because those kills are easier. Which gives them a hard time, especially if there's a good LO that is determined not to let anyone leave base alive. And if they do, it's going to be with low health. It's sad to see that when there's 6 chasers at base and there's a decent enemy LO at their base, they won't bother to go gang up on him and get him out quickly, although they SHOULD be a priority. But, when there's a new player behind the base, they will go out of their way to kill him.

From my experience most TA players tried LO and the main reason they gave up is the cause they get chained to hell at least that's what some of the eu players told me. So try not to go tryhard on them and I'm pretty sure they'll stay.

I'll be around nights for this :) Good idea Fiah.

I wouldn't go to easy on them either, They are coming from TA so they know how FPS+Z work in general and hopefully they'll enjoy the game more if we don't pity them.
Myself i enjoy when someone can whoop my ass, it gives me reason to play better.

Yep, and most of the people Stealth and I tried to get to the game were also giving similar reasons. All of them just avoided the game after one playthrough. It's really gamer's psychology. They want to get in and own, just like they do in Tribes. When they don't, they just rage quit.

I have a suggestion for you, Fire. See if you can try to get the admins change one of the American server names to something like a "Trainee" server for the weekend. Get all the players from T:A to that server. We can make it a passworded server, the password only known to some people here who you trust won't be douches by constantly killing all the noobs and instead will help them, and the T:A vets.

I also don't mind lending a hand if there's anything you need help with.

Im one of those T:A players your trying to attract, I gotta say...I like this game a lot. I saw your post on reddit and decided to check it out, 3hrs later its 3 am and Im starting to get the hang of going fast. Everyone on the server I joined was really helpful and cool...even when I totally TKed our flag carrier just before he capped the enemy flag. This game is a blast and I'll definitely be playin more this weekend.
