Final word on the lore-related stuff:

They're human. And as far as lore in concerned, once you die, you die; there is no respawning in the Legions storyline. That's a gameplay mechanic that exists solely for the purposes of furthering gameplay. If you want, you can think of yourself playing "reinforcements" or something, but as far as the lore is concerned, being blown apart on the battlefield means you've just met a very grisly end.

Sometimes, you just need to separate the game from the lore.

Now, let's get back on-topic, please. =)

Clones sound good to me. Anyways, if they could teleport, should there not be teleports in-game? The gauss rifle sounds good. Shotguns would most likely be used for dueling or LO only, and possibly defense, depending on the stopping power.

Even I can tell you that right now Mabel is praying for us to shut tha makebabies up and not bother him with any of these ideas (praying cus writing the code for -say- Gluegun would take ages). Though I hope that the devs are keeping a list/database with all feasible suggestions for future uses ;p

Oh I know. Though I still wish Mabel would say why shotties are so underpowered, or point out that I misintertereted an ambiguous comment.

the weapon system of Fallen Empire:Legions:OverDrive is fine as it is, I would rather see new maps and more player-friendly features than pointless new weapons that no one would ever use or like.

I think a shotgun would do fine in this game. It would have their own niche as a extremely close range weapon. It would be as OP at close range as the GL is with ground splash or RL is with direct hits or CG is with air spam or LR is at long range.

In total, it just needs to be tweaked properly.

A turret!!!!
No, no ! No turrets ! it would just break the fun I have when base camping/attacking. (lol if the 8 players in team A or B had turrets and plant them all on the flag rofl ....can't imagine that...).
I voted for 3 "weapons names" :

The shotgun would be (for me) :
-A sort of "shock shotgun" : when you shoot at somone it would drain some of you energy and push the guy away (like .
-It would deal a bit damage (higher at close range) but throw enemies with great force (according to your distance from enemy)
-To avoid people abusing this weapon, we might make it usable every xx seconds by, for example, making it reloading energy gradually, according to the speed you have (you would have to sky at high speed to reload the shotgun in a short amount of time)
-the specialist variant would deal higher damage, and have more power (and reload faster ^^)
I suggest 15 ammo/specialist 25 ammo, rate of fire : 1 hit per second / specialist 1 hit per 0.8 sec, damage 15 or 20% of raider hp
Outrider : this weapon + CG/LR
Raider : shotgun + RL/GL + CG
Sentinel : shotgun + RL + GL

The guauss rifle would be like a "super canon" , it would throw a heavy metal projectile magnetically accelered
-this would be pretty hard to use : you would have to go at 100+kphat least to activate it, and the faster you goes, the higher the damages dealt are (instant kill if you reach 200 ?)
-this kind of weapon would have a "mass effect", meaning you can kill a lot of ppl in one shot according to your speed (if you goes fast enough, then it would allow you to make damages in a larger area = larger beam).
-to make it more funny, the cannon could be activated only if you are in overdrive...etc.
Damage 80 to 100 % or raider hp according to speed, rate of fire/ammo : 1 shot (specialist 2)
outrider : only this weapon
raider : this weapon + cg or lr
senti : this weapon +rl or gl

The greatest weapon that would be ever made in legions would be.....the SWORD (or any kind of melee weapon).
-it would be perfect for humiliation kills (hehe..).
- the "sword" would be an electric or laser sword (must make it not like stars war swords).
-Also it would deal high damage (one hit kill on outrider) Or it would drain enemy's life and energy (30%). It would hit every 0.8 second (0.5 for spec)
-would be funny (really xD)
outrider : this + anything
raider : this + 2 non-specialist weapons (but not RL and GL at the same time)
senti : this + 2 weapon (one specialist like GLII or RLII).

Edit : i just wanted to make these weapons much more "legion", the shotgun, even if it exists in most of the fps, must be modded for legions ^^. Same for the sword

I've said it before, and I'm saying it again: NO.

Maybe/possibly/someday I'd like to see something similar to the rocket-pod from Vengeance. But then again, that would only be useful for chasers.

EDIT: Mabel, love, bring back the shanks :D

Shotties (and any other short range weapon) would make body blocking overpowered. Do I need to repeat things that others said but in bold for everyone to understand?

just like the GL makes being on the ground overpowered, or LR make being far away overpowered, or RL makes moving linearly overpowered, or CG make being in the air overpowered. You gain something, you lose something. That is the point of weapons. If we keep thinking that this weapon will be overpowered in this instance, we will never have any new or different weapons.

I would prefer the most if not all weapons fall in a similar DPS category.

Wouldn't they also help protect cappers from body blocking attempts as well? Say, Seymour's zooming in and sees a defender ready to do a shotty+bb combination, so Seymour blasts the defender first. If there was knockback on the shotgun, the defender could even be moved out of position for the body block (though a retaliatory shotgun blast would be expected).

Do I need to reapeat in bold that Mabel said shotguns suck and I am still waiting on someone to tell me what that is supposed to mean? Ambiguity.

Not the definition of suck I was thinking of, thus my use of the word ambiguity.

---
suck
verb

to be inadequate, displeasing, or of poor quality.
---

Aka Underpowered.

[...]Though I still wish Mabel would say why shotties are so underpowered[...].

I would personally like a turret. A deployable like Heimerdinger's that goes pew pew pew constant AoE damage.
(props to those of you who get the reference)
Or maybe Halfturret, Weavel's alt-form, from Metroid Prime Hunters.

Turrets are going to get blown up as soon as you get in one. You're stationary, they're not. Your turret will have blind spots and they will exploit them until they are so close that you can't turn fast enough.

Deployable turrets are different. They're automatic, so its not as big a deal if you blow them up (nor would they be as high a priority).

Shotguns could be used by cappers, but the problem is that while it might knock the HoF off, you can expect them to survive the blast and probably fire one at you at the same time immediately followed by a use of instant OD. By the time the HoF is in range, so are you, and that is one fight you will not win. Swords aren't practical for similar reasons.

Couldn't the same be said for any weapon (with knockback) against a HoF? Personally, I don't know how I would feel about a weapon that is able to incapacitate a HoF to a point where he'd be unable to use insta-OD and return fire. I see the LO being the one's to tackle the HoF and not the capper.
