[...] you've exploited the fact that Mahidhar didn't know the meaning of 'wake' to dismiss his argument saying that iOD is incapable of pushing a player, only of pulling; [...]
No. And the latter ("incapable of pushing") isn't true either.

Do you know what does the word 'opinion' mean? Well let me tell you that different people have different opinions, hence some will like the update but some will always whine. iOD is literally fine, regardless of whether everyone agrees on it or not. The only place where everyone will agree upon something is probably the church. Last place to look for such agreement is the internet.

I have already mentioned that, whatever I think it is, it is my opinion, you may check my previous posts if you're not sure. Unlike most people on the internet, this naive person, you like to teach about opinions and their worth, is neither condescending in his posts, nor goes to church. ;)

And by the way, I think you should pay more attention to your posts next time.

Sent is LITERALLY fine the way it is.

iOD is literally fine, regardless of whether everyone agrees on it or not.

Those two sentences bring about two different discussions.

Just to be clear, I never had a problem with iOD before. It's just that, to me, Sentinel seems overpowered right now, and Mortar seems to be one of the reasons. I was just trying to provide a solution by mentioning my idea of Sentinel variants. By removing iOD from the Mortar variant, the Sentinel has the long range, and power of the Mortar, but lacks the defensive capabilities of the iOD. By replacing the Mortar with the Cluster Grenade, on the Cluster variant, the Sentinel will have the ability to set up mines, while being able to iOD block incoming Cappers. And it is for this variant, that I was mentioning the flaws(yes, in my opinion, they are) of the iOD, and points at which they can be rectified.

Anyways, by now I know that Mahidar actually didn't want to say anything relevant with his "messed with and got fudged up" part, so feel free to continue where I came in.

Flaws- yes. Intentional- yes. Imbalanced- no.

Cluster is overrated in your variant- mines are useless as they can be shot down easily. Sents are also not overpowered (uh in my and I think the devs' and hopefully the vets' opinions) as mortar and iOD block often cancel each other out. Try doing both at the same time, you'll see. And besides the old Sentinel was slightly underpowered and boring, so something had to be done. Now it's pretty fun, and I must say that your 'overpowered' mortar tends to be misused a lot, hence it is being uneffective and it only annoys/hurts your teammates. Sure, it has a big potential but it punishes mistakes and if it was nerfed it wouldn't be worth taking anymore.

Don't know if to cry, laugh or rage.
If I'm standing on the flag stand and someone OD-grabs the flag, I tend to fly with them ie. I'm being pushed upon them grabbing the flag and then pulled after them as they leave the base. This isn't the case with iOD as the iOD cannot push.

Anyways quit your soliloquy because I'm long past fed up with it.

If I even began to know what you were talking about my head would explode.

You are hilarious the way you contradict yourself. First you say it's all opinion and then you make a statement saying that everyone else's opinion is 'wrong' and you are 'right'. I ROFL'd at this one.

No. But honestly, just stop thinking about it.
This is why I love Gheist. He has to be the friendliest, least sarcastic, most helpful person here. Why can't you just be nice? Sheesh. Does it cost you so much?

Why can't you just ignore him, me and anyone else you find not so nice people? Does it cost you so much?

Cluster is overrated, because it is very powerful (at least the one which the sentinel had)

iOD and mortar do not cancel each other out if you are talking about mortar mining the flag stand and iODing them into the mortar mine. It pretty much guarantees a close to 100% KO rate, at least when I do it. If you are talking about any other method, then I probably assume you are correct.[/quote]

Yes, it actually does. It's effort, especially around here, in these forums, with these people. Effort that's just not worth while anymore. I'm not around to be nice, I'm fine with being right (and you know that I'm talking about facts here, not about opinions - noone and everyone is right when it comes to opinions). But hey, it's nice to see that you realize that I'm helpful and usually not sarcastic, that I'm having a friendly attitude, and all this although I don't bother being "nice" most of the time.

Mahidhar made a pretty bold statement ("iOD was messed with and got fudged up"), I was interested in what he meant. He then showed that he doesn't exactly understand how (i)OD works in general, threw around some assumptions, and it became clear that his initial statement could be ignored/disregarded.

I'm just saying you can do everything you do without the condescension and the rage. You will feel lighter and happier too. I mean doesn't it feel like a burden to always be angry when you come to these forums?

Why can't you just ignore him, me and anyone else you find not so nice people? Does it cost you so much?
Are you sure that even makes sense? I'll forgive you though, because I know English is not your first language. NOT being mean or sarcastic, I swear. I just don't understand why you have to always be nasty. Do you think you are funny? Do you think you know more than everyone else and are therefore entitled to treat them like retarded children? These are serious questions and I really hope your answer to both is 'no'. You don't come across as funny, you just come across as arrogant and immature. Trust me I am not angry or raging when I say this. I am quite calm and really just curious. I can't change the way you behave but perhaps it's time you ask yourself why you act the way you do. Maybe you are trying to get a laugh out of your buddies? Then afterwards you get on IRC and it's, "Hey dude you should see what I said to Karnage in the forums man! And I totally trolled that other idiot ROFL!" I really hope this is not the case but I suspect it is. Correct me if I am wrong.

I've spoken with what I could collect. I still stand by my words that iOD is messed up. You may disregard my statements and opinions, but I may do the same to you and yours. It's a give and take.

And generally, as far as condescending attitude of people in these forums go. I seriously do not care. I have never met anyone in my life who would try to step on my thoughts, and would look at me with inferiority. It's because that is life, and I have no need to stand there and take it. Whereas the internet is filled with countless people masking themselves behind their PCs, and are given more freedom to say what they want to say.

That's why Carnage, that's why we are 'nasty' (I actually don't think on my postings as offensive, at least not often). We do not care, just like Mahi. And people who care about other people's attitudes on the Internet are funny to annoy. You should take Mahi's approach.

Just... no. He understands how iOD works perfectly, he just couldn't phrase it in a way that satisfies your sick forum standards.

I like the mortar because I can do some really creative ways to block several incoming cappers from getting my flag; i.e. letting it stick itself on the central pillar on Frostbyte Beta right after I blocked one guy and before the next guy comes in. It doesn't always work, but I can bring down any capper's health to the point that any chaser can take them down faster.

'Sides, it's a good weapon for most of the high pingers out there (I clock around 170-200 in the jap servers and 200-250 in the sing servers) and a decent support weapon when used right; the biggest problem now is that a lot of people don't know when to use it and when not to use it. The Sentinel's got several other weapons at its disposal, USE THEM.

This is coming from a person who has NEVER tried playing as Sentinel seriously:
I get the point of Mortar, and I like the concept of having heavy firepower on heavily armored slow character. Biggest problem I have with Mortar right now is that most Senti defenders don't give two *chocolate cookies* about teamkilling defenders/chasers, it's really nice to try chasing with Raider when teammate knocks my health down to 30 % BEFORE I even get a chance to build up momentum.

Other problem is that most people don't seem to realize Mortar has long recharge time: So what if you kill a llama (and usually friendly defender/chaser) with mortar? Someone else will just grab your flag at 180+ mph and you have no means to stop him/her. By the time your mortar has recharged capper is halfway home (well beyond mortar range) and all you can say at that point is "oh poop, that didn't go well as I planned".

Oh and for the love of god STOP USING MORTAR WHEN YOU'RE DUELING ENEMY O! I lost count how many times I've been TKed by Mortars, as qqchurch said "The Sentinel's got several other weapons at its disposal, USE THEM".

Tbh, it's whoever gets hit's fault for getting hurt, unless they are asking for it.
If there is a llama that is killed by the mortar, the hof should be able to bb the next capper, if they are skilled.
It is actually up to the other defenders to prevent callers from grabbing if the hof is reloading or in an unsuitable position to defend.
