generally if you can't reach the authentication server it means something is blocking your outgoing connection - either your computer's firewall or your router's firewall. try making an exception for the launcher via your computer's firewall.

as far as i know, your router has some sort of control panel usually found at http://192.168.2.1/ there should be a firewall tab somewhere so you can change settings there, but i don't recommend playing with these things too much.

that's all i can offer, hope greaper&co. can help more

your router's default ip may be different, you can try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 but i really just recommend joining irc at this point because i'm sure admins can give you better answers.

Join the Legions.Info channel as it is said to be the place to go for any advice or help with legions.
Insert a nickname, and click join chat. You'll see a whole row of people, firstly try contacting the guys with an '@' sign in front of their nicknames.
If they don't respond, or you cant access them (Because you aren't authed, or whatnot), ask for help in the general chat.

There is no known solution for this problem, all I can suggest is the following:

- Check https://accounts.legionsoverdrive.com/ in Internet Explorer and see if that loads without any warnings, if you get any certificate warnings - you've got problems.
- Reinstall .NET framework, as this is what the launcher uses.
- If you've got any anti-virus or firewall program installed then try disabling it, as it might not be happy with the fact that the launcher uses SSL.
- Make sure your Windows is fully patched, SP3 on XP, SP2 on Vista, SP1 on Win7 - and make sure it has every single security patch installed after that.
- Ensure your clock is accurate, the right date/time etc.

SSL? no warnings for https://accounts.legionsoverdrive.com/ re-installed .NET framework.. downloaded SP3.. what security patches do i need to install? my date and time is right.. and i've had alot of problems with legions in the past on this computer.. do you think i need a new one? it's about 6 years old and it's been mucking up this morning.. even though it was fixed about a week ago.

I had this problem. I think it had something to do with my firefox proxy something-or-other. Internet proxy something...leastways I reformatted my whole computer(not because I couldn't play Legions....*cough) and Legions worked again. So the default settings on everything will enable your Legions to work.

If you cant unzip it now, how did you unzip it at first?
Do you have an actual zipping/un-zipping program installed on your computer?
If not, download one here, try extracting the files with that, see if it helps. Also, run the launcher as administrator.

Aswell as this:
6) Launcher stuck at 'Contacting Auth server'/just doesn't open at any point.

- Try the methods above. If none of them apply, thanks to Stefygraff, another method is available.
You can use this link (http://www.mediafire.com/file/jvg82do62db3839/live.zip).
- Check to see if the computer time is synchronized with internet time
and, if I'm not wrong you've had this same problem previously? http://forums.legionsoverdrive.com/threads/stuck-at-contacting-auth-server.3552/#post-70141
