You should be able to take shots of fullscreen applications without any problem. Usually it works fine (definitely does for me).

taking screenshot in fullscreen doesn't work for me in legions either, i had to make a script similar to rockey's ma screenshot to take them

Weird. To not derail this thread even further, it might be in order to create a thread about this issue in the appropriate section. Maybe we can find similarities in your respective setups which could explain why it doesn't work for you two (and maybe even more users?).
