I get the bug error report of :

"Script error while executing main.cs"

I would prefer not to uninstall, and reinstall as I've been working heavily on mods

I dunno, buddy, perhaps the crash has something to do with the 'working heavily on mods'. You might want to try backing everything up, then reinstalling, to see if it is your mods causing issues.

Reinstalled, working, and you actually only have to move the launcher to a different location to get it going.

Found the problem, its my preferences file.

We can't support modded installations due to this exact reason. You modify something, you break it, we can't waste time debugging it.

Please don't waste our time with bug reports if you mod anything.
