you are crazy this is not real life it's a game, you should consider it as a game material
witch means a more effective sniper rifle, as you're saying you should keep aiming at him and shoot then the projectile will hit him no matter what
you are making a cg + lr speed, who the *dance* would want to add that to this kind of games
if you're thinking to be a programer please dump this idea, you have no future with it
and if you're not i don't care
basically i find all your ideas not useful in game

Look dude they are just ideas idc if they get implemented or not, at first I was just clearing up the diff between rail guns and rifles I understand this is a game and that the technicalities of it don't matter. I posted some ideas just thoughts nothing more, you are entitled to your opinions I hold no hard feelings but this is a post about weapons we would like to see so lets discuss all the possibilities....

Let's just say I know nothing about this weapon, and you don't either. ;)

Actually I do, as Deadguy rigged up a private server where the properties of the skybolt where used instead of the RLII (although without what the weapon will finally look like) . The weapon is I guess designed to be a replacement for the RLII as the developers want to get rid of the specialist weapons in time.

First off, I didn't read through every post so if i make any stupid or repetitive posts I will say sorry in advance.
My thoughts:

Gauss Rifle: Too much like the LR
Grenades: We have em
Poison: I love the idea of tracer rounds, probably for the CG, where after someone gets hit, they lose a low amount of damage periodically, and is refreshed everytime you are hit with another CG bullet. It would have to be relatively small, like total DoT is 15% on OR, 10% on Raider, and 5% on Sentinel, as it is not meant to do the majority of damage (numbers probably should be smaller). Also, the DoT should only be refreshed when hit again, not adding another DoT, because if a OR was hit with 4 bullets in a row, if the poison stacks the OR would lose 45% of its health purely to poison. With my idea it would refresh, probably doing about 18-25% damage depending on how far apart timewise the bullets hit the OR. An alternative is to create a max amount of stacks, but I think it just makes more sense to have one DoT. Great finishing and chasing tool IMO
Turret: Legions is all about mobility. This defeats the purpose. Too easy of a target.
Flame Thrower: I approve of this if it does moderate damage in close, and leaves a low "poison" on the target afterwards. However I still prefer a special CG with poison bullets and a sword over this.
Sword: The sword should have a lunging mechanism. Every time you "shoot", you lunge in the direction you are facing, eating up one "bullet" or ammo, and accelerate by idk persay 25m/s. It could have a cooldown similar to the RL or GL, and have a small number of lunges, so it isn't spammed. If you hit, you do something around the LR damage. It would work similar to Halo's sword (won't look like it), where you lunge towards your target, and then slow back down again, but you lunge forward, not lunge onto a locked target. I feel like if it didn't slow you back down again it could be used to make cappers OP, by replacing OD with a painless lunge. Overall, I think it would add skill to close combat, kinda like a high risk high reward sorta thing.
EDIT: Another possibility is that the sword has ammo, but uses up energy continuously, as you could hold down the lunge for as long as you wanted to or ran out of energy.
Chainsaw: Useless. Requiring one to stay up next to someone for a continous period of time is ridiculous. Or if it does high damage quickly, it would be cheap if someone blew by you and you ate away their health in .1 seconds. Plus, how would ammo work? Sword ftw
Shotgun: A shotgun would just be an OP close combat weapon. Assuming that a shotgun has a very small range but does high close combat damage, I feel like it would make a sword pointless and ruin dueling. In duels I almost always get very close to a person. If we both have shotguns, its basically whoever has a faster trigger finger who wins, not any actual aiming. I just feel like this is the lazy man's weapon, and would just make dueling a shotgun timing fest.

Idea: Godsend (call it whatever you want, probably a mortar or light missile or something, I just think that name is cool :))
I feel like theres a lack of long range weapons, as their is only the LR. The RL can kinda be one, but thats more luck and it isnt really meant for it. This is where I came up with the idea of Godsend. A laser pointer comes from your gun, and can see the laseruntil it either hits the ground or goes out of sight. If the LMB is clicked, the beam pulses, and after ~1 second i wide Laser beam is comes from the sky straight down to where the laser ends, and has a cooldown similar to that of the LR. This ground pounding but for long range. I thought the beam should be wide because it would be very hard to judge where and enemy is while in mid-air. At its epicenter damage equal to the LR is done, and the damage drops off from there (amount of damage can change, I don't really know how much it should do). There are two problems i see: 1. Depending on the width, the beam could be either extremely easy to aim, or extremely difficult. Solution: That's what game testing is for :p. 2. If you are aiming beyond where you can see, it would be cheap to hit someone like that. Solution: This is tricky. Either the damage could drop off at large ranges like the LR does, or it could simply be unusuable if you are aiming too far out.

Conclusion: I would like to see refreshable, nonstackable DoT poison special CG bullets, a sword for lunging, and possibly a Godsend. I love that name

since we lack in long range weapons i would really like to see cannons or large rocket launchers.....

Cluster hand grenades.....and also being able to wild mmore than 3 weopons at a time....also a sword would he nice....to take like half health away from a player.....mini multi rockets would be cool too

I think there are potential other weapon types for this game. I just don't think the recent suggestions (since the necro) would do any good.

I mean, with the insane modding that might occur now, someone will eventually make a melee weapon. I just hope it's got a dedicated key.

I've still got my melee-mid range weapon I'd like to see. If I ever got bored enough, I might make it, but that's unlikely. It would probably have to be a few years down the road too (after I finish college). I think since it would have the option to act as a ranged weapon and if done properly could actually be useful. The only map that I'd see any sort of "reliable use" for it would be Fallout because the aerial parts of the front paths actually cross. I have actually collided with people three or four times as a result.

But, by and large, it's useless. I'd only ever do it for the heck of it. It is something that I rarely wish I had though. It is certainly a wildly unbalancable thing. I suppose the only decent way would be to design multiple hitboxes for melee. Front strikes deal 50 damage or so. Back strikes deal 100 and drain energy. That would still allow it as an assassination tool, but without making it terribly unbalanced when used by HoF's. So long as the target is looking at you, you won't kill them (unless they already have significant damage of course).

Of course, it's still something you'd basically never use and would require gratuitous coding. In other words, it will happen eventually due to a bored modder, but not from the devs (and shouldn't be done by them). I really have no problem with the idea of melee in and of itself were it not for balance. If someone magically solved the balance issue and they wanted to integrate it into their version of the game, I'd probably support that. If it turned out awesome, I'd say the devs could incorporate it or what have you. But it is NOT something they should ever take time to work on. Base Assets>all.

I've been looking into making a realism mod, as crazy as it sounds, and hell I'd love a sawn-off hillbilly boomstick to go with it. I was thinking about modeling a new weapon, and each shell would be 12 CG rounds, with a spread ratio of, since I think Outriders are 6-8 feet/meters high, I can't remember which, 8::12 (Spreads 8 feet/meters for every 12 feet/meters the projectiles travel). Insta-kill point blank for Outriders and Raisers, 1/3 damage to Sentinels point blank. Has a firing speed of 2 rounds every 3 seconds, 40 round capacity. If cores come out, the Demolition Expert's core would add another 20 rounds to the 40, making it 60. Also, three-round-burst fire would be readily accessible at all times, but each three shots spread with a ratio of 14::10, or single-shot mode, with an increased reloading speed (3 shots every 2 seconds). Demolitions' class would have two subdivisions: Demolitions I and Demolitions II; Demolitions has the shotgun and a grenade launcher or rocket launcher. Frag grenades only. Demolitons II has the shotgun (Dubbed the "Mary Jane") and the chain gun. Frag grenades only. Both classes are Outrider only, for the sole purpose of LD or LO, reducing Mediums shottyspamming all up in yo face. Knockback effect is, if at point blank, 5 meters for Outrider and Raider, 2 meters for Sentinels.
 
Does anybody miss raiders with sniper?? I'd be cool if we could get a mini sniper for the raiders, but not one that's totally relevant to the skybolt. Maybe the outriders can carry a better sniper(current LR), dealing more damage far away, and slower reload, while the raider's sniper can make faster shots, but less damage, and have half thrust energy taken away instead of full. I know the devs want the idea of (II) weps out of the idea, but as for calling this mini sniper a name, I have no idea. I don't even know what I'm talking about. .just speakin' my mind, even though someone's gonna reply to this:p I just want the laser rifle to be recognized more?
