It is indeed possible to chase as a Sniper, I do it from time to time, it just needs a really good aim (and a few routes that you can run with energy loss). Still I'd say chasing on smaller maps is not necessary, since you can just shoot the capper from your base (well most of the time), so snipe chase is mostly useful on larger maps. Then again it's up to you what do you want to do. You can stay at home and clean your base from enemies or assist your incoming flag carrier, or you can go after the enemy flag carrier chase it down and get the flag back. For chasing Hornet is still the best (RL is just way too useful for speed gain+ flag control, not to mention the extra health which is always handy in face to face combat)
