Hi, I am a pretty new player into Legions. I have played Quake Live, Arena and Tribes too.
Too hard to use overdrive in Legions and I cant control it. I am just asking if someone would show me some caps or how could I do better. Thanks!

I learned alot from this and I know Unknown did too. Some are dated / impractical in a game but its good for some reference to learn OD movement and movement in general.

If see MetalHaus (me), Apcizzle, Unknown, phanakapan or Vel0city in game they do routes all the time on maps.

Follow us or ask us to show you one.

I saw you today and if you like the sentinel alot then you can always ask me some routes. Together we will go 180+ on core baby! (with luck 200+)

In general, there are three rules to activating Overdrive:
  1. You need to be going at least 88 m/s. You can check this by looking at your odometer along the top of the screen.
  2. You need to be touching the ground (although since your jets will be active, you'll obviously be hovering just over the ground instead of actually touching the ground, but close enough). It doesn't have to be terrain; as long as any structure is beneath you and you're going fast enough, you can enter Overdrive.
  3. You need to have your jets active (which is usually your right mouse button). Once you've entered Overdrive for the minimum amount of time, you drop out of Overdrive by releasing your jets button (again, usually RMB).
With that knowledge in hand, it's all about finding routes around the map that get you up to the proper speeds. And remember, Overdrive isn't a speed booster -- it's a maneuverability tool. You can reach MUCH faster speeds simply by skiing that you ever could by using Overdrive; the benefit of OD is the ability to turn on a dime.

Have fun, bud!

I you played Tribes games then just do the capping as you did in them. OD comes after you've mastered the movement a bit better and skiing around on an empty server helps you the most atm.

Correction! If you are flying in midair, and a player goes below you, you can activate Overdrive of his head! :)

Those are the two videos that I would point people too at the moment. Those are what pretty much taught me the basics of what you need to know about skiing and overdrive, but send me a PM if you want me to show you some routes some time.
