Can you explain how we help by participating in Hotswap test server?

You help by giving feedback on your experience(s) in the test server. The devs have already made several changes to 1.40 based on community feedback so far. Even crashes are useful, since they can look at the logs and iron them out. More players = more feedback = quicker fixes and push to live.

I've been boycotting the test server simply because I don't want the LR nerf to move to live. It may seem childish, but I'm just playing the live server as much as I can, and enjoy the LR before it becomes useless. I'm assuming other people are too, as I've seen people start taking up LR now.

My question is, I know people not playing hurt your progress in getting the contents live. But, is there any way to convince you guys to change your stance on LR? A petition, perhaps?

The LR was a huge point of discussion between the Testers and Devs. It was changed a couple times on test, and also was put up for removal. After a couple playtests with the current version, it's close to doing what it's supposed to, but still needs some tweaking imo.

To me, it seems the community is split in half whenever the topic of LR is brought up. And to me, the LR is more important than any of the new cores and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. I'm interested on what the devs will do when it's pushed to live.

Boycotting won't do anything but hurt the future of Legions. The feedback threads were created for a reason. No one particularly liked the laser rifle when they first tried in in private testing, mainly because they could no longer dominate with it. After another playtest however, they grew to like it. I saw the same happen in 1.40 public test, but there are of course still people who prefer the simple point and click version.
