OK so the previous thread was deleted just to troll me and make me type all that stuff again? xD No...

>Please research into something before sharing it with everone and buying the action kit
>Clicktivism...
>Commercial charities? Really?
>Want to help/get something good done for the people in Africa? Do it yourself or as directly as possible.
>Kony is no longer in Uganda!!!! Now this is a fact, the 100 troops from the U.S that were deployed to Africa were only initially deployed to Uganda, then they all proceeded to move north near where Kony is. Uganda needs direct post-conflict aid, not this...
>Please don't feel better about yourself after sticking up a poster and wearing a bracelet. Please.

>Some reviews, articles and such on the whole case:

Honestly, lots of people have been trying to do something about this issue. There are loads of other charity's that aren't a fraud and don't put 25% of all the income in their own pocket.

Ask yourself if you already knew kony before you decided to participate. If not you're just bandwagoning and in reality you don't give a single *chocolate cookies* about what's not only happening in uganda (not that there is anything going on there atm) but also in the rest of the world.

All your sources are IC themselves. I really CBA to even read anything but the titles. There's so many things wrong with supporting them anyway.
>Charity Navigator isn't an open-books review, more like them inviting a private guy over to their place to check them.
>Fixing all of the misinformation and such only after their mistakes were pointed out.

Also, clicktivism... PLEASE?!

My good friend's blog entry made during our charity trip to Tanzania said:
[...] it’s frustrating to see how little an impact you are making as you drive through the countryside seeing all of the run-down houses, the dirt and the general conditions that so many people have to live in. You want to fix everything by yourself, which of course can’t be done. Then as you work harder and harder on the building sites with everyone pulling together to get it done, helping each other out by shoveling away the dirt that someone else has broken up with a pickaxe or breaking up the harder dirt so the shovellers can get in there and make the trench a little deeper. Helping someone get a better grip on the cement brick they are carrying or handing the bricks you’ve heaved around to someone so they can put it in the foundation. You begin to realise that this is how peoples lives are improved. Heaping money on an organisation which claims to do good works from the comfort of your own home and then forgetting all about it can only go so far. It is only when people get in there and help out with their own hands then the work gets done and something is acheived. And from the attitude of the kids at the school as well as the speech the headmaster gave at the end of the last day made me think that however small it may have been, something was acheived and we can go back home knowing we helped someone out just a little bit.[...]

>Spend 50$ on a bracelet, poster and such, stick the poster somewhere, share a video and think all is good? Sorry, although the intentions here are noble i can't help but rage. There is a BAZZILION things wrong with the approach everyone is taking towards the case. Incoming thoughtflow that tries to make sense of the whole case:

What is everyone hoping for the most? Capturing Kony (helping post-conflict Uganda is clearly of a lower priority to IC). How do they want that done? The U.S 'assistance' troops are on the spot, so what else should be done? More troops? But isn't this what so many people were against during the Middle East conflicts? Iraq, Libya... Doesn't everyone know how does the presence of a foreign power affect third world countries? I doubt the square-headed US army men will get this right this time... IMO the millitary aid given to central Africa is sufficient/appropriate, Uganda received aid from the U.S back when Bush was up. So is this whole KONY2012 action just about... keeping the 100-man 'reinforcement' where it is? Because IMO the situation in Uganda has gotten better (not that I was following actively, I read up in the past few days) and the whole fuss is improportional.

Kony will be captured. Regardless of how visible the children are :D

They spend more than 50% of their revenue directly on Africa, if you look at their account breakdown it's there but this is now locked.
