Instant respawn is a bit silly.

The instant or close to instant respawn is getting a bit silly, especially when teams have hofs.

The previous 5 sec respawn was ok in my book.

In PUBs, without a doubt, defense needs a buff, but I don't think instantaneous respawn is quite necessary. The point of LO is, in a game where everybody is communicating, is to kill or distract the HoF so that the cappers can go through and do their thing. When the HoF is killed, that gives the cappers a window to go through and take the flag. Removing the window is something that gets defense a bit too much of a boost. If there was a compromise, something like 2.5 seconds or something shorter than 5 seconds that isn't instantaneous. These are my thoughts, I won't actually be able to play legions for a little while longer :(.

I think 4 seconds is too long, but 2.5 seconds is too short. I've been finding myself catching flags I've thrown on Frostbyte and Nivosus, something I could never do before.

I was actually really surprised at how well the 2.5 seconds worked for D. And the reduced waiting time is surprisingly less tedious and makes the game feel more streamlined.

Though the reduction seems to be ok in PUB play due to the lack of coordination between players. I see problems arising when any sort of coordination starts taking place.

When players were playing on the same team and communicating in vent or ts3, it was extremely hard to get the flag back during stand offs. Even a coordinated strike against the whole team worked rarely because the damaged players could respawn in a couple of seconds and get ready for the flag pass all the while the offense keeps dieing.

The current respawntime seems just fine to me personally.
You've to account for the different spawnzones aswell.

I feel that, re-spawn time is the wrong element to get the game balanced. I'd like to see the previous re-spawn time limit, back.

Well everybody said defense needed a buff...

If defense needed a buff, it should have been a nerf on the health regen, not an decrease in respawn time. The whole point of LO is lost now considering any hof or defensive player damaged or killed can respawn in "2.5" seconds and be ready to stop incoming cappers. This window is silly small and rarely occurs considering all defensive players don't die at the same time.

You're extrapolating an awful lot about things you haven't tried when arguing about the pickups that only the people you're arguing with have played...

I agree with Spartan. The window of opportunity an LO creates is too small now. I've tried to make LO work against HoFs (mind you it's been in public games) and I can't honestly see a point in sending an LO to deal with them.

An LO that deals with harassing enemy chasers and stay at home LD seems fine, but trying to deal with the HoF(s) is fruitless.

I'd be interested to see how the mechanic works in organized play, but I remain skeptical.

Perhaps the window of greatest opportunity has been lost, but this just means that PUGs and clan games are going to rely even more on communication. CTF in any game, including Legions, really thrives from teamwork and communication. Really, this will make the cappers better players, and in games and situations where communication is going on nicely, then you get increased communication between LO and cappers. Communication is good for shut-ins like us, so its just making us more human, right? :p
