Maybe I didn't play Legions enough when it was under IA, but I've noticed that some players will be running, standing, or cruising slowly then suddenly charging [at me] with OD. What gives? Here's my pre-apology for my ignorance.

Also, post things you want to know how to do.

Probably the Instant-OD feature only able to the Sentinel. Everyone else needs to be going 88 m/s to overdrive.

No, it's a reference to the Back to the Future movies, in which the DeLorean must reach 88 mph to activate the flux capacitor.

On topic: If they aren't Sentinel, then they could be "Contagious-ODing," which involves pressing R when someone (non Senti) is in OD and touches/comes closeish to you.
Final idea: Holding down R while going off a jumppad will result in an "instant" OD.

About contagious-OD however, I'm not 100% sure on if a person can be boosted into contagious OD when a sentinel insta-ODs into you. Must test.

You cannot contagious OD w/ Sentinel, but both Raider and Outrider can "catch" contagious OD from Raiders and Outriders.

Yes, but what I meant is if you can catch it off a sentinel in the right conditions.

You can be Senti-boosted a la Jorto-style, but that's a whole different story.

I think me and mr.fine still hold the record for most speed using that sent boost on another sent to send him from 1 base to the other while in the air going 365 on zenith ( I had 2 other witnesses, but I have no clue who they where lol). I havn't even bothered trying the sent boost lately, but I remember jorto saying he was easily doing it still.

Is Jorto still around? And if you can still sent boost, I'd love to try it out with you. I had tons of fun with it w/ Jorto, hitting a good 300+ with 1 boost.

you can still do it, I have done it lots of times, but I have only done it sending cappers into walls. I didn't play around with it like jorto did, but I will be happy to play around with it, I remember how to do it the old way =).

Well I sent Floks into the sky on Blade Run about two months back and he went so high and so fast that he glitched out and basically jetted across the sky all the way back to his own base on Blade Run. Please note: I said Blade Run. There were witnesses too.

Edit: Yes, Blade Run wasn't out then but DeadGuy let us have a little taste just for fun one day.

but how fast was he going straight up, and was he a sent? The fall down will gain speed from being so high.
