How can I get the lowest ping possible?

Hi guys! I am moving into my new house in July and this means getting a new internet!
In my current house, cable wasn't available. It is in my new house.

Apart from using cable/wired connection what can I look for in a plan, to try and get the lowest ping?

Thanks, much is appreciated. ;)

Close any other programs that require an internet connection.
I always do that when playing legions

host the server.
Getting wired connection. How can you tell how fast a plan will be? I will host the server when player-hosted servers are introduced.

Can I do anything else?

EDIT: When switching to wired connection does your ping decrease, or just stabilize? If it does decrease by how much?

well using an ethernet cable can slow it down quite a bit, i think it depends on your internet speed, how close you were to your router and other stuff as well i would imagine. i would assume about 20 ping at least?

1. Change your ISP. Go ask you parents or Google about it.
2. Change locations. Great difference in pings. (unless you move a few meters away)
3. Get closer to router if you are using wireless.
3b. Go wired.
4. Get better internet.
5. Upgrade memory.
6. Stop processes that use most of your memory and internet.

In my opinion the most important bit is how well you get your internet provided to your house. If the wiring of your provider is old, or stressed too much you can get bad or jumpy pings. Your router and your connection from your pc to it doesn't really increase or decrease your ping a lot, unless you're wireless and only receive a weak signal ofc. Using a very long ethernet cable can slightly weaken and/or slow down your connection speed, but that's probably not even noticeable.
