I apologize for the lack of information, but earlier, I fired my chaingun and the bar went full instantly,so I stopped shooting and got the overheat ret. As soon as I stopped shooting, the bar dropped to empty, and worked correctly for the remainder of the match.

I was a sentinel, and specifically a juggernaut, if it matters.

Having a high ping can do that, if it's happening consistently - as in every time you try to fire.
