Does the game have to be finished? wouldn't it be interesting for players to see new updates therefor the word of Legions Overdrive would increase? It seems the game is interesting now to play.

A better example would be something like Minecraft. Small, indie developer(s) getting their game known simply by word of mouth.

As for ads, I don't know if that's really feasible. They can cost a lot, and the devs wouldn't be getting anything back financially.

Not to mention drawing people into unfinished game might leave wrong impression on people who try it for 2 hours and leave. You can make first impression only once, might as well make it good one.

I don't think that's such a big issue. At least not as big as the devs make it out to be. Having people play your unfinished product isn't all that uncommon, which is why I brought up Minecraft. There are dozens of games that do this, which are essentially open beta's. I mean, do you honestly think we'll get a surge of new players just because the beta stage ends?

The devs have said they have a plan in store for adverting, and I'm curious to know what it is(if it even exists).

Do I think we get surge of new players once Beta stage ends? Not exactly.
Will the game look more appealing once it has proper tutorials, more content (maps & gametypes & weapons etc.), menu screen that looks/feels more vivid and possibly ingame music? Absolutely.

Thing is, as you said, devs haven't advertised the game. Minecraft is semi-viable comparison, but keep in mind current devs are prohibited of making profit on Legions.. which basically means they have considerably less resources than say, Minecraft dev team?

With that being said, we should start working on this stuff! :D
