Planetside2 does that. It's a pain though and even with their method, you'll still see shadows tick away because they can't process real-time shadows for everything, even in their engine.

The LR fires exactly where you aim it but unfortunately for those with extremely high ping, there's only so much you can do in regards to ping compensation.

You really have to realize how large that map would have to be. Even Planetside2's entire world map is only a few times the size of Blade Run. On a map that large, good map design would result in hi-speed trenches, not too different from Forgotten. Of course, given how everyone "loved"...
