turns out there was more than one prefs.cs file and i was editing the wrong one

for some odd reason i don't think that me changing the prefs does anything..... i don't see a change in detail and when i edited the viewable distance it did nothing. (it is read only)

i don't really like this idea. i wouldn't only being able to change your class by using an inventory station, and spawning in that class until you change it, but having to get to an inventory station every time you respawn would irritate me quite a lot, i have played tribes a bit and i can say...

ive fallen through the bottom of the map before as well and reached terminal velocity for a legionairre i think it was 758 m/s this was ages ago through.

Fireblasto has no sound. lionz does, just erratically. different problems. you did this to me with my black maps problem. =.=

put an earplug in the other ear and blast miley cyrus out of some speakers as loud as you can. it probably won't cure it but it will make you feel so much better that you don't have to listen to it while everyone else near you has to.

it works now. i looked at video settings and turned on lightmaps. (it looks like it defaulted off?) would that be what caused it?

all my buildings/non landscape features are black. this is NOT the same problem as the other black bases thread, which was about mirage - a map that was not meant to be in rotation. its a bit annoying as i cant see things that are sticking out of the buildings when going head on to them...

i was unable to chat at all in game the curser was flashing, implying that i could talk, but any button pressing involved me playing (walking, ect) and i was unable to talk at all. on another note I have black buildings only. will post a screenie later.
