T:A Tips

Well I've never played a Tribes game before, so I would appreciate some advice and tips from my trusted LO Community Members.

In particular explain the things in Tribes that aren't in Legions. Especially the leveling system, class system and how you can set up turrets and stuff and repair them, because I have no idea how to do that....

The leveling system and class system are totally different from the first tribes games, everyone had to look that up too...

How about you look at some videos on youtube and research a bit on your own, it's really not hard.

The biggest thing I've noticed between Legions and TA is that TA gives you virtually no control while skiing, which makes me sad :(

Aside from that, I think I'll be able to do better once I get my frame rate up :/

Setting up turrets is unique to the technician class. It comes with a pack that can deploy a turret (two if you have the skill) and you can repair it using your secondary repair gun.

You level and earn tokens by doing well in game and you can use those tokens to buy classes. Good luck having the patience to get them, though. :p I had VIP.

So, you can't be bothered to search some videos on youtube or google so you ask here to get some advice?

The skiing is not like legions, so you need two functions to ski. Spacebar just makes you frictionless, pulls you down by gravity going down hills, slows you down going up hills, so you'll use M2 for that.

Also, I thought your PC couldn't handle T:A?

I have a laptop which my family shares that can.

14 actually...

I already tried that. Nothing there. I specifically looked up "what do packs do in tribes ascend".

Also there was a video of some guy calling in an airstrike with a laser pointer thing. How do you do that?

Get enough credits (2000), get it by dieing 10 times, (each death gives you 200 credits. Press 1, "Tactical Airstrike", hold down the fire button w/ green laser, done.

Also, go check out the Tribes Ascend forums, and bother the guys there, not here:

Ok.

Did they remove the pathfinder class? Also am I correct in saying that the credits you earn in game can be transferred to some sort of money system, which can be used to unlock classes?

No. Also, credits earned in game do not transfer out of the game. You get tokens by how well you did in the game, however. Credits come from kills, tokens come from performance.

Ah ok thanks.

Also, in this video the guy gets like an insant boost? Is that a pack? How is it used?

It's a special feature for the Jumper class. I believe you press "c" for the boost.
Not a worry for you, unless you have VIP/Boosters/Gold, it will take end-on-end hours of grinding to get 15,000 tokens to unlock that class.

Royalty, most of the questions could be answered by a simple statement: Look at the *dancing* key binds. GO GAME MENU AND BIND THE KEYS, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. It is basicly first thing you do when you get a new game on PC. Get used to it.
