It's all preference really. I use first person for everything but when I'm hiding as LO, so I can see around corners. Once you get used to capping it's just as easy to do in first person, though.
I always used 3rd with the old lr, preffered it. After that got chucked going into 1st just seemed alien to me. Might not make a difference now being away for so long.
I do third because I like being able to see the feet and where they are going while still looking ahead. I find that 3rd person makes me a better skier, and I'm fine with not going into 1st person for anything because the reticle is just as accurate when in third person and the wider field of vision I think is a good advantage.
