If any of you guys have seen some of my other posts you might have figured out that I am big on sharing information. If you look at your own life you realize that sometimes you figure something out that really helps you, I am assuming that this does happen to everybody because I am no one special. So in this thread I was hoping everybody could post some of their interesting life experiences, things you realized etc. I hope everybody will contribute.

Let me start us off.

I used to live in the U.S.A. a year ago, honest to god my life back then was pretty pathetic like most teenagers. My days were nothing but sleep, eat, and play. I had friends and they were pretty much the only real enjoyment I had in life. Now my parents managed to trick me and they got me enrolled in a religious boarding school in Istanbul, Turkey. When I first started out I wanted nothing but to leave. But then I started to enjoy where I was. I learned a lot from my teachers. The things I figured out are these:
Life is full of surprises and that each day holds something new.
Treat others well and when you converse with them don't let yourself think bad about them.
Be well spoken, choose your words wisely, and think about what comes out of your mouth so many simple problems can be fixed this way.
Treat your parents well you never know when they won't be around
Don't procrastinate it will fk you up
Manage your money well
And possibly the most important if you want to learn something from someone RESPECT that person.

That's not all but that's it for today, hope to see everyone else contribute.

I realize I went a little overboard.
I recommend listening to the song at the bottom of my post while you read.

Well I'll go first:

I was adopted when I was a baby so I don't know my real parents. But honestly, you pick your family, nothing is ever set in stone.
I grew up bored out of my mind. My parents tried to get me involved in sports but nothing really stuck.
In grade 10 I started making actual friends, who I now find are the most treasured people in my life.
I also got into anime and Japanese culture a lot more, but I'm far from that stereotypical otaku F**K face who hates real girls.
Since then I've completed a Japanese year 1 course, and I plan to move there after college.
Also in grade 10 I f**ked up and broke the girl who I legit could have married's, heart.
Lastly, my one achievement was that I became the leader of the film program at my highschool. Director.
And when I graduated, the guy who I had always been my idol in the film program, told me he thought I was better than him and that I could beat him at anything film related.
This was one of the happiest moments for me.

Things I've learned through my short life thus far:
  • Everyone of us is a child of this world and we are shaped by what it has become, in order to change others or ourselves, we need to change the world too.
  • No one can make your future other than you, shape it how you want, then if you don't like it, there's no one to blame but yourself.
  • Happiness isn't about money, happiness is finding how you want to live your life, living without regret.
  • Fighting, is something you should never do, but at the same time, if you don't fight when there is an obvious need, you won't be able to protect anything.
This is lightning, my first project inside of the 3ds max modeling/animation software. I've been working on her for a very long time, and soon she's going to take her first steps. This is a big achievement for me:

Edit:
Oh and this is definitely the song I pick when it comes to thinking about/planning my future. It's called Wings of Words

I'd skip to 3:32

Here's the translation for just that part:
Though I cannot fly to the skies, I can give you my wings.
They'll say, "You're not alone anymore", And the words will tear away your loneliness.
Even pessimists can change and fall in love.
If the path you have chosen reaches a dead end,
Then why not lose yourself there.

Thanks for contributing bro, hope to see the rest of the community here
Np, I'd like to see more replies too.
One more thing I'd like to add:
Boredom is a blessing you'll never understand, because suddenly too many things start happening at once and you'll miss the quiet times.

I used to do all sort of sports like: swimming, water polo, karate, running etc. Basicly there is nothing I couldn't do when you think about traditional sports. When I got a bit older(17-18 years old) I pretty much stopped everything. Me and my friends started to use drugs and play games, mainly Tribes1 and some PS games. We got high everyday and all of us *danced* up our schools while doing so. This phase lasted 3 years for me, which was enough to do some serious damage to me and people around me. Then I realised(I can't remember exactly what happend during those 3 years and it's mostly pretty foggy, because of very obiovious reasons) I had to do something or I end up being nobody. I started my army 6 months before I had to go there and cut off all the connections I had with the friends who used *chocolate cookies*.

Shortening the story a bit here. I met a girl while I was in the army and we moved to another city. I worked as a lifesaver few years and then got into the school and now I'm working as personal trainer at one of the coollest fitnessclubs in this city. Life is good and I got married few years back. We got *chocolate cookies* loads of animals and have decided we don't need kids. Idk what more a man can ask.

What I've learned is that you're the only one who can change yourself. If you keep relying on your parents when ever you have problems with money etc you never going to learn any other way. Let the *chocolate cookies* happen(it will happen no matter if you want it or not), it's the best way to learn. Also what I've learned is that most of the people are generaly selfish wankers so do not trust anyone and be a naive idiot. Be nice to everyone but don't trust them. My best advices which will help you to have a lot less headaches during your life.

Also learn to *dancing* ignore forum posts you don't like. I can do it so I expect you *lovely lady* s can do it too.

Thanks for contributing Disci those three years must have sucked. And thanks for the warning to the people who will post later

Idk, I had pretty damn fun but it was also depressing. Yeah, I dont recomend it at all and everyone would be better off without them, but damn it was funny. Too bad you can't just drift away and keep doing so and world would just stop at the same time.

My life is toooo long to talk about. I'll say the highlight of my Summer instead :).
So.. I spent 5 weeks in Spain on Holiday, don't a lot of stuff such as Paintballing, GoKarting, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Learnt how to Rollerskate, Beach and went canoeing and loads more =]. But the best part of my holiday is meeting a new friend (The hottest girl I've ever seen) who quickly became my Girlfriend. Now there's 1000 miles of Land and Water between us but we're still going strong <3. But that's just in short. :)

Lol very nice, but you should probably add some of the things you learned in your life/ summer. Or what would you tell yourself of 1 year ago if you could, what advice would you give yourself.
