Problem with keys?

I've tired searching on the internet to resolve this problem but I can't seem to find anything. As I create website's a lot, I include the ' " ' quite frequently and I'm always having to double tap the key. If I tap it once it will not show up but when I tap the key twice, the ' " ' shows up twice and it's really annoying. I'm using windows 8 and if anyone could help resolve this issue, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Is it a new computer with Win8 already installed, or did you upgrade your old computer?

Might be a problem with the keyboard itself perhaps? You should try getting another one from somewhere else and seeing if you get the same problem

It's a brand new Windows 8 Laptop.

Ah, I'm not really sure what it is then. A mate of mine upgraded to Win8 and had similar issues- that's why I asked.

Check keyboard profile options? Maybe it's in there.
