Computer Crashes when launching Legions

Specs: i7 860 @ 3.5Ghz | ASUS Maximus GENE iii | GSkill Sniper 8GB (4x2) | ATI Radeon 5970 2GB | 700W PSU | Intel 510 SSD 120GB | Toshiba 2.5in HDD 300GB | Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD |

once I press the 'Play' button, I am sometimes taken to a black screen which freezes my computer after 2-3 seconds. I am forced to force shutdown and restart.

this problem is very frequent, as it occurs around 70% of the time

It says I have the most recent DX, but does this mean it has reinstalled already? Or do I have to manually uninstall DirectX first?

this happens to me sometimes (aka always), but ctrl-alt-del or alt-tab always fixes it
