More than likely a video card issue. I had a radeon sapphire 4870 x2 do this once and turned out that one of the GPU chips was getting toast.

what your looking at is a huge database of particles.. you will need to do some experimenting to use these. With its release I'm sure some folks might come up with interesting stuff. The old legions explosions will need to be replaced for any desirable effects with these.
