In a mod, I once made something resembling a shocklance. That would get a lot of use in Legions, but a strict melee weapon never would.

I've had three, maybe four times ever that I could have melee'd someone in legions. It is incredibly rare.

The shapes are in the Legions folder which means that you'd get a version incompatibility error upon trying to use them on standard servers.

Is there any thing aside from the overview threads that a couple devs posted indicating what the patch would contain? As in, the actual changes?

I haven't looked at the code in months, but IIRC, the background should be drawn by the script. I'm at work now but I'll try to remember to check when I get home.
