"System could not find the specified file"??

hi! i'm new here to legions over drive and didn't even had a chance of playing Fallen Empire: Legions in the first place....... so one day i decided to try it out! looks new and exciting

so.. i have the launcher downloaded, logged in, and it started to update ( updating file 1/1 live.zip ) which takes AGES... after it finishes to update (thank God) the moment of truth was at the PLAY button. BUT, whenever i press the PLAY button a message above the progress bar shows up. "server could not find the specified file" not sure what the "specified file" is so i went on the forums.

i see that so far no one besides me has had this problem ( poor me ) i was really looking forward to this game even though it is beta....... please help!

It's actually the "system could not find the specified file" not the "server" sorry!

i ran the launcher again, it started updating again (is it suppose to do this? ) pressed PLAY, and same error occurred. did this for 3 times, no luck.

Downloading live.zip is the initial download (it's 100MB or so, will take a while).

Run the Launcher again, it shouldn't need to download the full thing again. If the same problem occurs, then reply to the thread with your auth_log.txt file.

well, i tried to run the launcher again. and it started updating, again. the same error showed up and i just completely wasted my time. i actually repeated the process for 3 times ....... sigh. and may i ask what is auth_log.txt.file ? sorry i'm still a newbie, but thanks for the quick reply!

auth_log.txt will appear in the same directory as Launcher.exe - run Launcher, click PLAY to try and run the game, close the Launcher. After this you should see an auth_log.txt file - post it as an attachment here.

Might be a silly question, but you're not running the launcher from inside its .zip file, are you? Because if you are, then the game won't know where it downloaded the live folder TO, and you'll have issues. =)

nope, i extracted the legions overdrive foldier to the dekstop any other solutions?

Can YOU see the Live folder? It should be a subdirectory of wherever your Legions directory is. Thus, you should have:

/LegionsOverdrive/Launcher.exe
/LegionsOverdrive/live/(stuff)

Is the Live directory there after it finishes downloading live.zip?

Is there a "live" directory in the same directory as Launcher.exe? If so, is there a Legions.exe inside it? If so, try and run it (but don't expect to be able to connect to a server - you need to login with the launcher).

haha just my luck! last night i decided to redownload instead of reupdating........ extracted to dekstop again...... updated, again.. and then boom i could play it! but the singaporean server lags whenever more than 3 people come and join. but anyways, thanks for all your help and replies!

P.S i dont know what actually changed , the last legions folder had exactly the same "stuff" as the redownloaded one.
