Fully customizable characters

I am suggesting that you have a basic character that you can change in game and out of whenever you want.

Weapons: you can choose any 3 weapons and upgrade 1 to the better model e.g. chaingun, grenade launcher and the rocket specialists rocket launcher.

Ammo: possibly choose how much ammo per gun. For example you can assign 40 ammo points. 1 ammo point is worth 10 chaingun ammo, 3 rockets, 2 grenades and 1 sniper round.

For armour: say from 0-50% armour you character looks like an outrider, 50-75% a raider and 75-100% a sentinel.

Speed and armour: for example purposes.. the max speed is 500km/h.
If you choose to have 0% armour, you have a max speed of 500km/h. (with 0% armour the enemy would attack your life straight away... making it easy to die)
If you have 25% armour, max speed is 450km/h.
50%, max speed of 400km/h.
75%, max speed of 350 km/h. so up to 75% there is a depletion of 2km/h per 1% of armour.
75-100% of armour could deduct 4 or 5 (whatever) points per 1% of armour... meaning that someone with 100% armour has a max speed of 200-250km/h.
Keep in mind that overdrive would increase speed but injure the user.... It would be useless for a user with 0% armourto use overdrive

P.S. am i right in saying that there used to be a shield which got depleted then your life was attacked? i cant remember

This could make legions customizable but still balance out the game as theres no leveling or talents... whatever

So a Outrider can now carry a cluster gernade? :D AWESOME, I can't wait to spam it.
Seriously though, the armor thing is pretty OP.

Plus, "This could make legions customizable but still balance out the game as theres no leveling or talents... whatever" Legions is based on talent, but not skill.

no i meant like talents...... as in like skills that you can add to your player like 10% more speed, more damage e.t.c. Thats the great thing about legions... no leveling, skills, buying cash items that enhance your player
Sorry if i confused you

I don't like this idea really, and no, there was no armor function in Legions, it was just that outriders had 75 health, raiders had 100, and sentinels had 125. I didn't know this until Mabeline mentioned this on a different thread since all you see in-game is a percentage of remaining health. Also, a 500 m/s speed limit is insane. That's well over twice what the average legions player can do and most people would do it in CTF and they would be unchaseable. However, they would have almost zero hp, and so one itty bitty rough landing, and they are dead. I still wouldn't call this balance, though. Also, customizeable loadouts are already being discussed, and there would be limitations on which weapons each armor class can handle (outrider can't have the cluster) Also, the cluster will probably become a new weapon and be balanced out. There's no real need for reducing health for a speed boost since one of the greater points of legions is that it takes skill in order to be fast. Let anybody travel at 400 m/s and they would be traveling faster with a low amount of skill, almost twice as fast as the most skilled skier, and that just doesn't seem fair to the people who have spent a lot of time trying to get better.

just a suggestion though. perhaps no speed limit capped but they gradually get slower.. similiar to the classes in legions already but specifically tuned to a persons preferences

I think 500m/s is way too much speed and in 0% life nobody will be able to handle that at that speed you are going to have some rough landings and with them you will die
try to search for a hill to land at that speed its impossible to do it perfectly

Okay guys, first, read this:
Yes, I am definitely adding custom loadouts. Of course everything must balance so certain restrictions will apply. For example, Instant-OD is only available on sentinels, sentinel cannot carry a sniper rifle, etc. As we add content like more weapons and "other goodies" more limitations will crop up, but I'm striving to have as much customization as possible. Gameplay does come first though. :p

Second:
[...] outriders had 75 health, raiders had 100, and sentinels had 125. [...]
The correct numbers are 75, 100 and 200 (not 125).

Third: km/h != m/s.

Wouldn't an outrider with 0% and that much speed just die right away since he'd be crashing into walls and stuff? I disprove of this idea as well. This would deteriorate Legions to a point where there would be no classes. Although it would be fun to add strategy to what YOU like, there can be so many options.. Although this could be a good thing to some players who like variety. IMO, I would not play Legions if it was like this :/ More weapons, more classes, sure. But lets have more weapons and variety before adding customization. Good point

he's not talking about health, but another system where armour is introduced as separate to the health bar, so you receive damage to the armour first then to health.

Ah. I see. Either way, Sents would dominate. xD

Another thing. One customized player wouldn't be dominate, because there would be so many choices. People would be discussing the best combo. It's just like picking out a character in a fighting game like Super Smash Bros. Every character is good once you get the hang of them.

i really dont like this idea
i think the armor would be a huge impact on the game and make it harder and more frustrating
and i like my snipers with unlimited ammo.
i hate it what they've don with them.
i like the first: wait for it to charge, beam is visible method.

I believe the current layout of classes and stuff is fine. It would require too much balancing to be able to do this.

At first, I thought you were talking about customizable armor color wise. I would love to see that. Not just the skins thing, more of a Halo thing with tons of options.

Yes I like this idea.

Also:
If you add 1 armor your speed gets taken away by 1 point.
+1a = -1s

Let's get technical.

1 ammo point would mean 1 sniper round? I like that idea. But 400 chaingun rounds? Do you know what Mabel and RiP could DO with that? On a more serious note, I like the idea about getting the Specialists back. But again, if Mabel or RiP chose the CGII with 400 rounds, they would clearly dominate. I just see too much over-poweredness in these ideas. The Classes and weapons were changed for a very good reason. ;)

the chaingun specialist wil never return, and we already have 350 chaingun bullets.

and capping the speed at 450km/h? i'm sure you mean the speed you get given at the top of the screen in game, and that is measured in m/s. also, if anyone can actually get above 400 consistently enough to make a cap of 400 needed, i would be impressed.

Cool idea... but instead of % armor... why not weight? You could add whatever armor or weapons you wanted to and it would affect your weight accordingly... The heavier you are the slower you are the lighter you are the faster you are.... and of course there would be weight caps added on to each class, Outriders having the lowest weight cap and Sentinels having the highest weight cap
