Building a computer, need some help

Do you want to know what the current price of the i7's are? A lot more than AMD's new bulldozer cpu, and you get way better price to performance ratio. When Intel releases the new Ivy bridge processors, they will be much better as intel are still creating the best processors in the world. They can just charge what they like because AMD doesn't really match up to them because they are so far behind in processor technology.

Amd FX x8 = $27.3838 per core
Intel i7 x4= $74.9975 per core

if you match things up that way you will in no way get the right processor. again, cores and cpu clock speed (GHz) is not all there is to a processor.
(the i7 also has something called hyperthreading which gives another 4 theoretical cores.)

doesn't matter though, get the bulldozer six or eight core.

I've never had a problem with either of my Macs and they run smooth as can be.

You could say I wanna marry Steve Wozniak, but that would just be gay odd.

Please keep this thread on the topic of helping me pic out some good quality parts for my new build instead of a mac hating thread?

The new i7 3820, 3930k and the 3960X are going to be release soon. The processors utilize Intels Sandy Bridge-E technology, and have been implemented on new chips. The i7 3820 is a normal quad core, with a standard frequency of 3.6Ghz and turbo boost to 3.9. Due to the new chip being used, new motherboards (X79) have been created which offers PCI Express 3.0, a *dance* load of ram slots, etc. The expected release date is around November give or take.

The i7 3820 is expected to be under $300.
The I7 3930K is over $500 and the 3960X is around $1000, both offering six cores.

Pics when it's finished? Sounds quite nice. Btw, I found this neat little thing. Idk if you'll have enough room for it, but it's just an idea for only $25 added to the total price, and free shipping. I figure you might need a little something more than a hamster-driven fan to cool off a gaming PC

I don't know. Might get it not sure though

How about we turn this thread into a computer general thread? People can talk about new products and build in here instead of creating new threads
