Build-A-Computer Thread

Finally a hardware thread!

Personally, I think hexacores are pretty overpowered. I mean other then huge multitasking, what do you need 6 cores for that needs you to use all of them. Most games only take about have of the CPU maximum and a quadcore is far beyond enough to run a nice game. I'd swap out the hexa w/ a quadcore and try to get a better graphics card and some additional RAM, just because you can never have enough RAM! But then again, you have to show off your computer! Also, I think you might be able to find a cheaper, nicer looking case somewhere.

The one thing about the case chosen is that it comes with a power supply, which helps with the higher price.

I didn't see the PSU but I still think it's over priced!

Well I've seen 850w at 50$ at the local store, seems to be 80-120 on newegg etc, I guess it's a good buy because the case and all, but local stores are better.

While the site doesn't display much information on the PSU, it is modular, so it's probably on the pricier side. I'm going to assume it's a thermaltake psu, but I wasn't able to find much info on it.

I prefer thermal take brand, I like that mobo Sey, Rain and ripper, 6 cores for my Sony Vegas, 3ds and other CPU power consuming things. I would need 8gb of ram, imo, also a SSD for the awesomeness. That rig isn't just for gaming.

I want to build a 1000- 1600 rig FOR my all around computing.

If i wanted just to play games of course, 700-900 build.
