Hi,

I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue today (noticed it this morning, everything was fine yesterday): Whenever I open my internet browser www.google.com (I've set it as my home page) I get following "Error 404 (Not Found)!!1" window (see attachment).

I also received notification from Google team that someone had tried logging on to my Gmail account (apparently didn't succeed, I managed to change my password)... I haven't visited any illegal sites, registered any user accounts nor have I downloaded anything. Very strange.
Furthermore, if I try going to google.com again after opening browser my Ad-Aware toolbar states "Visiting this site may harm your computer!". Very VERY strange. I can browse other sites just fine and I can log in to Gmail & YouTube without any problems.

I've already tried reinstalling Ad-Aware & Comodo Firewall, I'm thinking about trying full system scan and possibly system restore, but before resorting to those I'd like to know if anyone else has had similar problems with Google or is it just my computer acting strange (I really doubt it's any sort of malware but you can never be too sure)? Everything worked like charm yesterday but not today.

Sounds like something is messing with your DNS settings, make sure they are set to something like OpenDNS or your ISPs DNS.

Yarr nevermind, I think I've fixed it now. At first I thought it would have something to do with DNS (just like Dabbleh mentioned), but after changing my internet settings to "Obtain DNS address automatically" + reboot and reinstalling Comodo without Comodo DNS (which I thought was the culprit) I noticed nothing changed. I even confirmed this on cmd using ipconfig /all and ipconfig /flushdns after reboot (DNS addresses did change but it didn't fix the problem I had).
Turns out it was Ad-Aware's Browsing Protection add-on which caused this problem. It's possible that the DNS setting somehow lingered through multiple reboots (though very unlikely), but after I removed Browsing Protection google.com started working normally.

Might actually link this to your thread "Useful Links for Fixing Computers", if ye don't mind, in case someone else runs into this issue.
