Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application

Hi, I get the following exact error when launching the launcher.exe:

"Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application."

That's it. It doesn't do anything else, just this error.

System specs are as follows:

WXP Pro SP3, all updates current
Athlon 2Ghz, 2GB RAM
GeForce 6150LE (don't laugh)
DX9c and .NET current of course, included with all latest updates...

I'm at a loss, surely the vid card not being the "recommended" would not cause the launcher to get such a message.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm all ears, what the hell am I missing here? B-D

This error usually occurs with the launcher when you don't have the right .NET installed. Try and reinstall the .NET framework.

Actually it was very interesting. WXP Pro SP3, and I had to install the .NET framework core files from the DEVELOPER download .NET #3 to make it work (developer files .NET #4 did not fix it).
==what I'm trying to say is the "consumer" .NET downloads did not fix the problem, only the "developer" #3 did.
==most folks won't take the trouble to download the developer's files, why should you if you're not writing some code?
