Reasonable /pricebuild for a computer

It looks good! My only change would be to replace that motherboard with the MSI 890FX for $109.99 that was in the build I posted earlier. I think the $109.99 might be a typo or a really short term deal, I'd recommend picking it up as soon as you can. With that said, the 880G in Floks' build is likely enough mobo to meet your needs, it may not have x16/x16 crossfire, but I'm pretty sure the difference is negligible.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm just not seeing it or not, but is there a PSU in this build? If not, you'll need to add that to the base price.

BTW, when is your date with Fujin? Hurry it up and share photos of your new machine!
Whenever I decide on a new build. YOU HURRY UP SON.

Btw: He still has to order the parts, build the thing, and drive here.

EDIT: DAT FLOKS NO PUT PSU ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrr

MOBO OUT OF STOCK FUUUUUUUUU

Multithreading (what cores is good for severe multitasking, encoding, and compiling.) This often comes at the expense of clock speed (to maintain TDP.) This is part of why I and others suggest a quad-core- beyond that you have nothing to gain, but you have higher clock speed potential. AMD has turbocore and Intel has turboboost (which declock or turn off unused cores and clocks up cores doing work) but that technology has not progressed enough to be helpful to one who consistently only loads some of one's cores.

For the power supply unit (PSU), go Corsair, Antec, Thortech, or Ultra. They're pricer but PSU is not an area you want to skimp on. And don't forget the *cough* cost of an OS disk!

The GD65 is a stripped-down version of the GD70 I have. It cuts out the second LAN port, Esata, the secondary raid controller, and a bunch of other crap most people don't need.

Also, you want egg reviews:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130565&Tpk=msi 890fxa-gd65

That's the actual page for the same board Seymour linked to. When newegg makes an open-box deal page, it doesn't migrate the reviews for the actual product over. MSI makes good stuff.

Getting it for free. ujelly
Hence, the *cough.*

I liked Seymours first build.. but I think I can do better. I need more builds (that aren't bad and are balanced)

Seymour's got the MSI 890FXA-GD70, has been running beautifully. First experience with a MSI motherboard and it's been a good one.

Yar, I'll keep looking. See if I can make things even cheaper by using more and more 'combo deals'.

I don't really care about cheapness ATM, I just want something nice at a reasonable price.

Also, dat board has tons of bad reviews.

!? Seymour tries to help you out and you insult his motherboard!? Shameful!

Anyhow, found this nice Core i7 kit and thought that I would post it for you. Its got some decent hardware, for an alright price.

Not bad at all, and your CPU should last you for quite some time. Kinda sucks that you have to include the Trend Micro antivirus, that could've shaved off $34 off the total.

Nice, but a little over my budget! RainP is confusing and mean :(

Gentlemen, the new budget is 1100.

Acer S231HLbid 23” 1080p LED-LCD @ $150
Cooler Master HAF 912 @ $55
Intel i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3 GHz (3.7 w/TB) Quad-Core @220
Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 LGA 1155 @130
G.Skill Ripjaws X 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 @ 1333 MHz CL9 @ 35
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB @ 7200 RPM @ 50
XFX PRO750W XXX Edition 750W Semi-Modular @ 116
Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 @ 320

I can OC my i5 to a stable 4.2GHZ I think so I think I can take your i7.

Total: around 1100.

GG all your builds

The sentence you've been looking for is "Thanks for all the time you guys have spent on my problem, I appreciate it".
:(

Update: I'm getting everything different except for the i5. I'm getting the 6950 because it can be flashed to perform like a 6970

Not anymore.

And unless you are going to use intel smart response with an ssd (ssd caching) you probably don't need a z68 mobo, get a cheaper (but still good) motherboard and spend money on getting 8GB RAM instead.

Not anymore.

After reading a few posts about tards trying to flash their GPU's to 6970's and some how breaking the whole thing, I'm staying about from flashing. It also voids the warranty so yeah. I plan to pickup a cheap 6950 when the 7000 series comes out too so I'll just have dual 6950's and be able to destroy any game out there. I think I am going to get an aftermarket cooler too and just make things cold so I can OC my CPU.

EDIT: 8gb RAM is freaking useless. I'll barely use 3GB at the most, if I need more, RAM is cheap as hell and I can pick some up with my rebate.
