No sound

My computer has stopped producing sound. I got a technician guy to fix it and he downloaded
something call Sigma Tel Audio. But I mistakenly deleted it..thought it wasn't important.
SO now I'm without sound can anyone help me install I tried many times.

Windows Vista Capable
It's the WIndows XP Media Center the 2005 edition?

Ah, I did that a while ago by accident. Although it wasn't the same thing. I remember it was like completely deleted from my computer. Maybe go back to the guy and get him to re download it?

Let me explain I hired him to do stuff on my comp for what. 2 years now? And this is the 3RD time I did this. And when i tried calling him he wouldn't answer And he was the cheapest guy I know. So.. Klapooie.

Use speccy ( www.piriform.com/speccy ) to tell us what audio card you have and someone can look around for some drivers

It's not in warrantly 0 days left I will use this piriform thing. ty

if you must. but i would only download the sigmatel one, and download the other *drivers* if it still doesn't work.
(the sigmatel is the bottom one)

its still probably best if we knew your sound card.

then "download from browser"

click on the file when its downloaded, install it then restart computer.

try this then, it's the EXE from the official site, sounds like dell are being stupid and forcing you to use their crappy software.
