Legions Lite

The craptop that I'm running Legions on typically overheats, fans kick on, then slows the graphics to a thrashy near standstill until I restart. Do you think this mod would make my comp a) run Legions faster and overheat less often. b) run awesome, then cause my computer to implode after 15 seconds?

Option B is just unreasonable. The whole concept of Legions Lite is to make it run better albeit with SEGA like graphics, not like Legions: Overdrive's graphics on steroids, which would be the only way your laptop would implode after 15 seconds.

for 42 seconds, then the usual overheating.

I am using one of those. They work. I used to overheat a lot sooner when playing Unreal.

for some odd reason i don't think that me changing the prefs does anything..... i don't see a change in detail and when i edited the viewable distance it did nothing. (it is read only)

No need to do that with config and pref files. Did you get rid of your .dso's after applying your changes? If not, try that.

I think you should put in the OP that you have to lower your resolution in order for the liteness to take effect. Or in the Do-it-Yourself post.

Gfx card needs to support pixel shader 2.0 even when you mod the game to look like poop.

I'm having this strange bug that when I'm coming closer to an object, it gets his detailed texture back. Does anyone know how this is possible?

Wrong LOD settings.

Edit: Tweaking $pref::TS::detailAdjust fixed his problem.
