IPv6 has been around for years, but most people/corporations were too lazy to implement it because they actually thought they wouldn't run out of address space.

It's basically like the internet version of 64-bit OSes all over again.

well, if you imagine web addresses aren't actually what you need to get to a website, but actually the I.P. Address.... yeah, we are running out of those.

ipV6 is basically a new type of ip address that means we can still get new websites. something like 340 undecillion of them.
