Game sound issues, sure you know about it Devs..

I just recently noticed that sounds for weapons or explosions that are not played by players within the distance to be played or what ever in the current mission, will be played in the next mission when a player comes to the position in the game, where it should be played. I hope we can come up with a fix for this, Its anoying and may be using up server resources...

Well known problem; in fact the sound aspect of legions is known to be notoriously bad for even getting to get it work.

Hm, that sounds like an OpenAL bug. We've had to make several improvements to the sound system for Torque 3D, which was the next engine after TGEA (what Legions uses). It sounds like it could use an updated OpenAL library and a quick bug fix to the looping code.

Quick note, if you update your sound drivers, your sound may not work at all , or you will other oddities. Easiest fix it to backup your autoexec, config, and any rets you may have loaded, and reinstall the game, it won't take long.
