Ahoy hoy!

As Legions: Overdrive resources are tight and the community is on the smaller side (so far!), we are looking to the Community for input on what should be included as available game types for Legions: Overdrive. While it would be nice to just use every single gametype we can think of, and host a large number of servers for each gametype, it's probably not the most realistic option as our resources are limited, and we'd probably be better served focusing on the more popular game types that the majority of the Community would enjoy.

Here are some sample game types, and a brief description with how they're played.

Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch: The first player to reach a set amount of kills wins the game. The 'Team' variant has two teams competing against each other to reach the set amount of kills to win the game.

Hunters: The player needs to collect 'flags' from fallen foes. The player can then return these flags to the 'Nexus' for points, the more flags the player has in his possession when he steps into the Nexus, the more points he receives. However, if the player is killed, all of the flags he was carrying are dropped (and making the flags easy pickings for other players to grab). The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the round.

Rabbit: A flag spawns, and the first player to grab the flag, becomes the Rabbit. The longer the player is the Rabbit, the more points he receives. However, if he dies, the flag is tossed and the next player to grab the flag becomes the new Rabbit. At the end of the match, the player with the most points wins the game.

Arena: Two teams face off against each other. There are no respawns, when you are killed, you'll be dead until the next round. A round is over when all of the players from one team are defeated. The winning team is the team that has won the majority of the rounds.

If there's other game types you'd like to see feel free to list them and give a brief description of them.

Another thing to consider is how you want the server rotations. Would the community like to see a server host more than one gametype? (Say a cycle between Hunters and Deathmatch). Or be specific to one gametype? (Rabbit only).

Another idea could be to swap out the gametype rotation after a week or two. Say, Arena could play for a couple of weeks, then that server can be switched to Team Deathmatch.

Anyhow, let us know what you want to see in Legions: Overdrive. Also, don't take this poll as being the 'end all, be all' for gametype selection. We understand that polls are by no means a representation of what the entire community wants, and Seymour will likely be trying to find some opinions of what players want to see ingame, on the servers (so be polite to me).

An Arena mode seems pretty cool, along with the rest. But if we could only add one, I would have to choose Arena

I agree with umb. Arena sounds like the pick of the litter. The server rotations are sounding good to me too.

Whoa. I'm alive?

I voted for Rabbit, since I think I could actually enjoy it, as well as Other. How about a Duel server? If you did it like Tribes you could have both Arena and Duel in the same server.

I voted other, as I'd like to see a CnH mode implemented. Although, Arena would be a lot of fun.

I voted for rabbit, hopefully it's made the same way as last time. 16+ player games on zenith were the best lol

Because I suck at DM/TDM and dueling in general, I voted Rabbit. I don't mind if TDM/DM comes back, as it will only serve to improve my skills (or lack thereof).

Arena would be great, with 5v5 teams. I think this is a hell of a lot better than TDM. TDM just seems pointless to me.

A duel server would be pretty fun too, especially for those late weekday nights when not many people are on.

Rabbit is a must I think. We had some pretty great times playing rabbit on IA and an actual game mode would be pretty sweet.

I think Team Rabbit would be good as well, similar to what was done with tribes 1 where big passes score points as well as time held as a team (but with maximum carry times for individual players).

More than anything I would love to see some kind of C&H element, or base assets added to CTF to make the game more than just dueling and capping, but all in due time.

In Tribes (Oooohhh no I played tribes!!) I really enjoyed TAC. Tactical aerial combat, some guys over at vV call this ninja platforms. It simply is just like the game you played on the playground when you were like 8. Hot LAVA!!!! You duel around a base without touching the ground. This therefore inspires one to watch where he is landing while at the same time trying to MA/Chain out the enemy. We usually play this on the Niv middle bridge going from platform to platform. Works pretty good till someone cheats and says they didn't hit the ground ;). We have also played it on Forgotten's base really fun stuff there.

I think Rabbit sounds the best, along with quiddich..... and I think that eventually (if possible) you should implement each of the game types into legions, but Hunter may pose a problem as people may camp by this 'nexus' and get cheap kills from the players trying to get points with their flags, as these players with flags will have likely have low health from their previous battle trying to obtain their flags (if you can follow that).

As for the server rotations, any method would be fine for me.

I voted other, as I'd like to see a CnH mode implemented.

Please explain what CnH is.

I really like the Arena idea, I haven't played competitive Tribes, so this should be a treat.

As the others have said, rabbit/team rabbit would be a fun thing to come back.
Is team rabbit a sort of: Two teams have the enemy flag, one player gets the flag, both teams have to have a balance of escort and attack to try and return the flag? That sounds interesting to me.

I also liked Hunters very much, maybe some Team Hunters as well?

Nobody likes TDM PUGS. I do ):

Please explain what CnH is.

CnH is just a mode where an objective (usually multiple objectives) are scattered across the map, generally within structures, that requires a player/team to capture them by standing near them and defending it against the other team.

Just FYI, Seymour, those are check boxes in the poll. (just bringing it up in case there was only supposed to be one vote per person - otherwise, please disregard).

Anyway, Rabbit sounds the coolest.

Basically like CTF with multiple flags?

That sounds incredibly fun.
