This could prove to be real. If so...

Rumors are of a large US company funding this.

Edit:

The journalist is supposedly going through hoops and will be able to officially run his story in a few days. I'm withholding judgement until there has been an official verdict on this, but I have already texted a nuclear chemist and should hear from him tomorrow.

I will be watching with great interest... and hopefully some valuable discussions we can get if this is real... the world as we know it will be changed forever.

I also imagine either a great war is to come, or great peace.

This assumption drawn from their idea that a hot water heater could be equipped with an E-cat and placed in your home that would never require external power. The possibilities of such small energy generation units could lead to a revolution in many realms.

I'm a bit worried about human culture though and how we strive to kill each other off most of the time. This could have some amazing uses there too.

Seriously.

This isn't an end of the world prophecy ;) This is science.
Well, the whole thing with cold fusion has been already 'done' and turned out to be a fail a coupla (8 or so, I don't know) years ago. I just don't believe that it works as of now.

I hope that this turns out to be truthful. I really want a few technologies and among them are FTL, gravity defiance, and cold fusion. The first two probably won't happen in my lifetime (if ever), but I think the third one *might,* though it's certainly not guaranteed. One thing's certain: if he gets this right, he will get the nobel for physics. You don't go revolutionizing the entire world without them noticing.

In all honesty, I have to be skeptical of this just because of the history of cold fusion. That doesn't stop me from hoping for an awesome technology that would make pretty much everyone on the planet happy.

In all honestly, its been what, 100 years since we have had any technological breakthroughs since electricity?

Something is bound to happen at some point or the human race is doomed.

We can only go so far in fossil fuels.

It has been a while since something influenced the world that much... Then again, it's only been two decades since the internet came online, which I'd call something that radically changed the world.

But as far as actually making advancements in energy, we are behind. The new thorium reactor designs look good, but I think we can all agree that we'd love nothing more than cold fusion powering more or less everything if it works well enough. Hot fusion has how shall we say... Limited possibilities... I see it (once we actually get it to work of course) as being something that's only used in huge warships and eventually spaceships. It's just too volatile to keep a star inside you otherwise. Cold fusion seems to be, to my understanding, theoretically ideal for smaller applications. Perhaps less efficient, but significantly more mobile (given that you don't have to keep the reactor from vaporizing itself).

...lock it up in a cellar yet.

" I want not our Customers assailed by the puppetts moved by their puppetteers. Let the plant go to work, then they will reveal themselves automatically. Probably you did not understand that there is a war against us.
Warm Regards,
A.R."

They already have plans to ship plants out working off of this technology. But they are not giving names out of who wants it. They are being very very tight lipped about this project. I bet some investors with the oil and coal company's are trying to pull off some crazy *chocolate cookies* on them.

Wonder if anyone is gonna end up dead before this all goes mainstream because (or if) it works. o0

Still a bit skeptical, but I can't help but watch this develop with open arms.

The fact that we've yet to find a viable means of highly-portable, cost efficient, no-emissions, open-to-the-public energy systems boggles my mind. Then again, governments DO indeed love to keep tons of stuff under wraps. If some kind of super-energy device were invented, boy, would the monopolies be alllll over it. Just look at Coca-Cola. =P
