black terrain

Anyone know how to fix a black/shimmering terrain issue? I have a friend that has the issue, I know his puter is good enough for L:O, and he said his drivers were recent. He doesn't get around often so I'm posting for him.

He deleted the L:O folder and redownloaded everything and still no joy.

Hmm, you might want to get him to post his console.log and dxdiag in here. Solely by guessing, I'm going to go with driver issue or perhaps an older GPU, but that's probably not the case if his PC's fairly recent and decent at gaming.

Have him get the very latest drivers for his card and update DirectX to its latest version. Beyond that, getting a console.log and dxdiag would be prudent.

I'll tell him to post a console.log and dxdiag here when he gets a chance, he's keepin busy irl so not sure when that'll be.

But no, no custom anything. And the game worked fine when on IA, not sure what has changed from then to now regarding graphics.

I have this issue quite a bunch.

It's a dirty fix but this works for me.

I look straight up in the air and keep alt-tabbing, usually it goes away after 2 or 3 attempts.
